In August 2007 I moved to Canada from England with my family. After years in the IT sector I had the opportunity to work at home for a start-up Health Informatics company. This gave me time to develop my writing career. As an avid user of the Internet, creating a blog seemed the natural place to develop a writing habit. In February 2008 I launched ‘the last geek bus home’ as testament to my journey to become a born-again geek. I blogged under the name ‘WorldofHiglet‘, an online name I had had for several years and I interviewed some fantastic people like actor/writer/producer Felicia Day, author P J Haarsma and actor/producer Kim Evey.

After writing a well-received web series the next step was write a novel that I had had running around my head for years. “Turning Left at Albuquerque”, about lovable geek Jason Danovan, is now complete and is currently being serialised as an Audiobook Podcast.

I also write for other websites such as PinkRaygun.com and Whedonage.com as ‘worldofhiglet’. Please see my Portfolio for more examples of my work.

At the moment I’m querying for a non-fiction book. I’ve also been doing some more interviews, like this one with Emmy Award-Winning Director Sean Becker. My long-awaited second novel is waiting to spring forth! Hint: it isn’t the second book about Jason because that is already partially-written. This is a brand new novel, a new direction and is very exciting. I’ll keep you posted.

NEWS:
